Symptoms of Nasal Cancer
These symptoms could indicate that you are suffering from Nasal CancerWhat Are The Symptoms of Nasal Cancer?
One of the difficulties with Nasal and Paranasal cancers are that their early symptoms can be easily confused with a host of other medical conditions – some quite serious, others relatively harmless. It is always better to get checked by a doctor or medical professional if you have any concerns about the following symptoms, as some could be a sign of the early stages of cancer:
- A persistent blocked nose – commonly only affecting one nostril
- Nosebleeds – particularly when you blow your nose
- A reduced sense of smell and taste
- Mucus flowing from the nose (sometimes referred to as rhinorrhoea)
- Mucus running down the back of your throat
As the condition develops you may notice further symptoms such as:
- Numbness of the cheek, upper lip, nose or even your upper teeth
- Headaches
- Watery eyes or bulging of one eye
- Loss of vision or changes within vision
- Swollen glands in the neck
- Pressure or pain in one ear
- Pus draining from the nose
- A growth or lump on your face, nose or the roof of your mouth
- Jaw pain and stiffness
- Trouble opening and closing the mouth
- Enlarged lymph nodes – either seen or felt as lumps under the skin
- Loose teeth in the upper jaw
- Changes in your speech
- Double vision
All of the symptoms listed above can be synonymous with other conditions and so it is critical if you suspect that they might have anything to do with cancer, you should get yourself checked out by a doctor. If you have a family history of nasal or paranasal cancer you could become part of a screening program where a variety of tests are conducted regularly to ensure that the risk of cancer developing is reduced, and if a case is discovered, hopefully it can be treated effectively before it goes on to cause ore significant damage.
